There’s something truly special about photographing families who rarely get to be together. For example, when Norma reached out for family portraits in Thunder Bay, she was overjoyed to finally have her entire family in one place—a rare and treasured moment.
Norma and her husband are in their golden years. This summer, they were blessed to have all their children visiting at once. Since everyone lives far apart, family reunions like this are few and far between. Therefore, Norma wanted to capture the occasion with timeless portraits that the whole family could treasure forever.
The weather was perfect, with soft natural light and a relaxed summer vibe. To make the session comfortable, we brought chairs from inside the house and placed them in their beautiful backyard. This allowed Norma and her husband to sit comfortably throughout the shoot.
Next, the rest of the family gathered around them. As a result, we could rotate family members in and out, creating a wide variety of groupings. For example, we captured the full family together, three generations of women, just the boys, all the grandkids, and a priceless moment of Norma giving her husband a sweet kiss on the cheek.
This session perfectly illustrates what we love about family portraits in Thunder Bay. In fact, it’s not just about taking pictures—it’s about celebrating connection, love, and the legacy that binds families together.
Everyone was thrilled with how the images turned out, and as a result, we felt honored to capture such a meaningful chapter in their story.
If you’re planning a rare family gathering—or simply want to preserve a beautiful moment—we’d love to help. Therefore, contact us today to book your Thunder Bay family portrait session, because some memories are too precious to leave to chance.
