The Initial Consultation: Let's Get to Know Each Other

When a client contacts us in search of a newborn photographer, we begin with a relaxed and friendly consultation. This is your chance to share your vision with us and ask any questions you might have about the process. Whether you’re looking for soft, natural tones or bold, colourful backdrops, we want to hear about it all.

We’ll go over everything you can expect during your 90-minute newborn photography session, which is held right in our comfortable, fully-equipped studio.

During the consultation, we’ll ask what colours, themes, or looks you love. Do you have a favourite blanket? A family heirloom? A cute knitted hat from Grandma? We encourage you to bring personal props to add a unique and sentimental touch to your photos.

By discussing your preferences in advance, we’re able to prep the studio before you arrive, ensuring the session flows smoothly and your little one stays comfortable throughout.

What to Expect the Day of Your Newborn Photography Session

When you arrive for your newborn photography session at our Thunder Bay studio, everything will be ready for you and your little one. Our studio is fully set up before you arrive. We pre-set the room temperature to make sure it’s warm and cozy. We play soft lullaby music to help your newborn feel calm and secure. It’s all about creating a peaceful, soothing environment so your baby can settle in naturally.

We recommend bringing your baby dressed in their favourite outfit so we can begin photographing right away. Once we’ve captured some adorable shots in that outfit, we’ll transition to a second look or begin wrapping your baby in one of our high-quality wraps for classic newborn portraits.

A Variety of Setups for Timeless Photos

During the 90-minute session, we’ll use a range of solid-coloured backdrops, soft baskets, and thoughtfully selected props to create a variety of looks. We want every image to feel unique and timeless. And of course, we’ll take photos of your baby with both parents, these moments are just as important as the solo shots.

Want to include a few more family members? We welcome that! Whether it’s proud siblings or grandparents, you’re more than welcome to bring along loved ones to be part of this special day.

Flexible, Baby-Led Sessions

We’ve designed our newborn sessions to last 90 minutes so there’s plenty of time for outfit changes, feeding breaks, and cuddles. Babies are on their own schedule, and that’s completely okay. We’ll go at your baby’s pace and make sure everyone stays comfortable throughout.

Capturing the innocence and beauty of newborns is always a heartwarming experience. My recent baby photo shoot with Simar Singh, his wife, and their precious daughter Elaahi was no exception. As they stepped into the studio on a crisp April afternoon. The air was filled with anticipation and joy.

Elaahi, only a few days old, was a tiny bundle of cuteness, her eyes wide with curiosity as she explored her new surroundings. Before diving into the shoot, I took the time to ensure she felt comfortable and at ease in my presence. After all, it was her first photoshoot. We wanted everything to be just perfect for her and her loving family.
