Capturing Innovation with Blue Imp
We recently had the pleasure of working once again with Blue Imp, a long-standing client renowned for their innovative and fun playground designs. As a photographer specializing in playground projects, I understand that these jobs often come with unique visual goals. Moreover, this latest project was no exception. In fact, it had three specific requirements that we carefully followed to the letter.
Highlighting the Playground with Drone Photography
First, Blue Imp specifically requested drone shots of the new playground equipment. Aerial photography is one of the best ways to showcase the full scope of a park. Not only does it highlight the playground structure itself, but it also captures surrounding features such as seating areas for parents and open green space. Additionally, these wide, sweeping drone views provide important context for how the play space fits into the overall environment. As a result, the playground becomes the central focus of each image, giving viewers a clear sense of scale and layout.
Matching the Original 3D Rendering
Another key request from Blue Imp was to recreate the original 3D rendering used to sell the concept. By reproducing the same angle and perspective, we could clearly show how closely the final build matches the proposed design. This approach provides powerful visual proof for current clients, demonstrating that they received exactly what was promised. Furthermore, it helps build trust with potential future clients by showing Blue Imp’s commitment to quality and precision. In addition, these comparative images highlight attention to detail and reinforce the company’s professionalism.
Capturing Creative Details and Dramatic Perspectives
Lastly, we were asked to capture creative detail shots of the playground. One standout example came from a ship-themed park in Thunder Bay. Using a low-level, wide-angle composition aimed dramatically upward, we emphasized the playground’s nautical character. Although the sky was mostly overcast, the sun broke through just enough to create a moody, ocean-like light. As a result, the images had a dramatic, cinematic quality. Unsurprisingly, our client loved the final shots.
